Banking is the safe option: Chopra.BANGALORE: Parineeti Chopra sure has made her own place in Bollywood, but the 25 year old still says that she considers banking as a career to fall back on if her Bollywood career fails.
Chopra, who was introduced by cousin Priyanka Chopra to the Public Relations department of Yash Raj Films was not at all fond of actors and the acting profession once upon a time. Then slowly through time her perception about the industry changed. She always wanted to become an investment banker during her time in marketing at Yash Raj Films, considering it a more secure and safe job.
As of now only four films old, with just three as the lead heroine, Chopra has already won multiple accolades for her roles in the films.
“There are very few people who are lucky and don’t struggle much to get into films. If one has interest (in acting) then one must try, but should also have a backup plan because film industry is very unpredictable,” said the young actress in the interview.
Chopra’s upcoming films are Daawat-e-Ishq and Kill Dil where she stars opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, respectively. Chopra will also be seen in the TV series India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj, where she will be mentoring young Bollywood aspirants along with actor Ayushmann Khurrana.
About her role as a mentor, she said, “I cannot teach them, as I am not trained enough. I will share my experiences, which I think will help them.” She also spoke about her mentor in Bollywood.
“Manish has been my mentor. He is the one who spotted me and he is the reason I am an actress and then Aditya Chopra. Manish and Adi are two people, who I ask for suggestions and opinions.”
